Aaron Judge Ties Yogi Berra with 358th Home Run in Yankees' Narrow Loss

Aaron Judge Makes History in Yankees' 3-2 Defeat
On Sunday, Aaron Judge further solidified his legacy as one of the New York Yankees' all-time greats by hitting his 358th career home run during a closely contested game against the Chicago White Sox. Despite the Yankees' 3-2 loss, Judge's achievement allowed him to tie legendary Hall of Fame catcher Yogi Berra for the fifth-most home runs in franchise history.
Reflecting on the moment, Judge expressed mixed emotions, saying, "Not getting (the win) kind of stings. But you know, getting a chance to tie one of the greatest, if not the greatest Yankee, in homers is pretty special. The way Yogi played the game, what he meant to these pinstripes, you knew how much it meant being a New York Yankee to him. I feel the same way." He added, "I'm honored to wear this jersey, so it's pretty cool to be on that list with him."
This remarkable home run marked Judge's 43rd of the season, placing him fourth in the majors for home runs. He has also amassed an impressive 97 RBIs with a .324 batting average and a 1.117 OPS, both leading the majors. With his eyes set on the next milestone, Judge is just three home runs away from matching Yankees legend Joe DiMaggio's 361 and subsequently aiming to chase Lou Gehrig's record of 493 home runs.
As Judge continues to climb the all-time home run list for the Yankees, he is determined to lead the team on a deep playoff run. Currently, the Yankees hold the top wild card spot in the American League with a record of 76-61.
