Russell Westbrook Joins Elite Company with 25,000 Points and 10,000 Assists Milestone

Historic Achievement for Russell Westbrook
Sacramento Kings guard Russell Westbrook reached a remarkable career milestone on Friday, joining Los Angeles Lakers superstar LeBron James as one of only two players in NBA history to score over 25,000 points and dish out 10,000 assists. This achievement solidifies Westbrook's position among the legends of basketball.
In a night that showcased his exceptional talent, Westbrook entered the game needing just five assists to hit the 10,000 mark. He accomplished this feat with impressive speed, recording his fifth assist shortly after the midway point of the second quarter. Westbrook's assist came during a pick-and-roll play with Kings big man Domantas Sabonis, which helped tie the game at 47 against the Minnesota Timberwolves.
Westbrook’s Legacy Continues
As he continues his journey in his 18th NBA season and first with the Kings, Westbrook now stands as one of only eight players in NBA history to achieve 10,000 or more career assists. He joins an elite group that includes legends such as Magic Johnson, John Stockton, Chris Paul, Jason Kidd, Steve Nash, and Mark Jackson.
Westbrook's illustrious career includes being a nine-time All-NBA player, a two-time scoring champion, and a one-time MVP. He also made history by averaging a triple-double on four different occasions and was selected to the NBA's 75th Anniversary Team, further cementing his legacy in the sport.
